#1 SELECTED WORK²

PHILIPS WEBSHOP
LAUNCH CGI

Single campaign · 600,000+ views · CGI for two markets

THE BRIEF

Philips Croatia & Slovenia were launching their online store across both markets and wanted a CGI moment for the announcement

THE PIVOT

Floating in an undefined sky is a video. Floating over a place people recognize is a moment.

I proposed taking the same idea and grounding it in Zagreb's Trg bana Jelačića and Ljubljana's Prešernov trg, the central squares of both cities. Two markets, two iconic locations, one campaign that would feel local in both places at once.

The challenge: deliver two fully realized CGI scenes without doubling the production timeline.

THE BUILD

I designed the workflow so the heavy 3D work — modeling, lighting setup, balloon animation, material development — was done once, then adapted to each location. Zagreb and Ljubljana each got their own bespoke scene without rebuilding the project from scratch.

3D PRODUCTION IN BLENDER: Tracked the real plates of both squares, built the 3D space to match, placed the balloons and Philips bags as physical objects in the scene with accurate lighting, reflections, and shadows that matched the time of day in each shot.

COMPOSITING IN AFTER EFFECTS: Masked out people and elements that walked in front of the CGI objects in the original footage — so the balloons and bags didn't sit on top of the image, they lived inside the space. That single layer of work is what makes the difference between "clearly CGI" and "wait, was that actually there?"

THE RESULT

The CGI video became one of Philips' most-viewed reels to date, with 600,000+ views across their social channels.

More than the numbers: the campaign worked because it belonged to both cities, instead of being a generic launch video that could have come from anywhere.
